Indoor League
Rules
The league will consist of 5 clubs in Oxfordshire. These are Oxford Archers, Oxford University Company of Archers, Windrush Bowmen, South Oxon Archery Club and Banbury Cross Archers. Each club will compete in one match against each other club during the course of the league, either home or away.
Matches will be shot in a team format, with 4 archers on each team. The round shot will vary based on the bowstyle, so as to allow varied bowstyles to compete on a more level playing field.
Compound archers will shoot a Bray I with inner-10 scoring.
Recurve archers will shoot a Bray I with normal 10 zone scoring.
Non sighted bowstyles (Barebow, Longbow) will shoot a Half Portsmouth with 10 zone scoring.
Junior archers will also shoot a Half Portsmouth.
Note that a Bray I is shot at 20 yards, not 18 metres. Archers may shoot on full faces or trispots. This is at the discretion of the archer.
Teams do not need to be predeclared, any number of archers from the club may shoot, with the top 3 scores on the day making the team.
The venue of the match is to be agreed between the teams involved. Where possible the club listed first on the schedule should host. Hosting teams must be able to accommodate at least 4 visiting archers. However, they should be prepared to accommodate more should the line have enough space. Also, if a club is restricting space for the visiting club, they must declare the archers taking part in the match before shooting begins, numbering no greater than the restriction on the visiting club. (Basically, you can't tell the visiting club that they can only bring 4 archers and field 36 of your own in the match. You can field 36 if you offered them up to 20 spaces and they only filled 4 of them.)
Four league points will be awarded for a win. In the unlikely event of a draw, two league points will be awarded to each team.
In addition to the normal matches, a Team Head to Head competition will be held at the Indoor championships, following completion of the normal rounds. This will take the form of a Round Robin system, with each team competing against each other team. 3 archers will compete for each team, shooting 4 arrows each over two ends. The team with the highest score over the 12 arrows wins. In the event that scores are level, shootoffs will take place. One league point will be awarded for each win, so a maximum of 4 points are available at County Champs.
In the event that the overall championship is level at the end of the year, the total number of points scored across all normal season matches will be used as the tiebreaker.
In addition to the team competition, separate individual rankings will be kept. In order to be eligible, archers must shoot 3 of the 4 matches and the county championships. The highest 3 scores from the matches are taken and added to the county championships score to determine the indoor county rankings.
Schedule
Team listed first to host whenever possible. The host team should offer 2 dates in the month specified to the visiting club, who have the choice of which date to accept. The organiser must be kept informed of all negotiations on date and informed of the date before each match. The dates should whenever possible be confirmed one week before the match.
