County Indoors

County Indoors was a great success with over 60 archers shooting. Full results can be found here. Congratulations to all the medal winners!

Entry Information

Sunday 11th December -  Iffley Road Sports Center, Jackdaw Lane, Oxford, OX4 1EQ

Round: Portsmouth
Sessions: 9.30am, 12.30pm
Judge: Mr Ted Burnham

Awards: Bowstyles considered for awards are as follows: Recurve, Compound, Longbow, Barebow, Traditional. There will also be separate awards made for novices - those who commenced their beginner’s course on or after 1st January 2011. Awards in all categories are subject to entries.

Dress: Competitors are requested to wear GNAS-approved dress. Club colours are strongly encouraged.

Liability: Neither the Society nor the venue owners can accept any responsibility for any loss, damage or injury to vehicles, property or persons occurring at this tournament.

Entry fee: £5 (juniors £2.50)

Team Head to Head

A team head to head match will be held after the event, forming part of the indoor league.

Each team will compete against each other team in a 24 arrow match. Teams consist of 4 archers, shooting 3 ends of 2 arrows each, at the same faces as they normally would for the league matches.

Each end will have a time limit of 3 minutes, with only one archer from each team allowed on the line at once. A demonstration of how it works will be done before the matches get underway. The schedule of matches will be drawn between the sessions, if time.

One league point is available for each match win. Ties will be decided by shootoffs. Team members may be changed between each match. The first match should begin at 3.30pm. Archers are encouraged to stay and support their club compatriots! Results off the main competition will be announced immediately following the Head to Head matches, and we should all be done by 5pm.

Dinner

We have booked a table at the Magdalen Arms on Iffley Road at 6pm. If you would like to come along for food and drinks after the event then please get in touch. Places may be limited - first come first served!
